Why "NetCDF output is not available anymore" in cut3d?

Post by goodluck » Sun Jan 06, 2013 2:11 pm

In the version 6.12.*, I can use cut3d to read wavefunction and write it to NetCDF .nc file.
I find it a convenient format to be manipulated.

However, when I use 7.0.4 version, cut3d says that: "NetCDF output is not available anymore"

I want to know why this happens?

Can NetCDF support come back? I really hope it!

Hello Goodluck,

the old netcdf format has been disabled - what you should use is the new standard which is ETSF-io. Abinit can produce it directly (see accesswf variable and configure script options) so you don't even have to go through cut3d.

The format is much more complete, has a common set of structural data for potentials wf density etc... and can be read by several other codes.

Cheers
