Possible bug in symmetry finder

Post by jzwanzig » Thu Sep 09, 2010 3:14 pm

Hi,
Using the symmetry finder for a compound (Cu2O) described in spgroup 224 spgorig 2, abinit stops with the message

bldgrp : BUG -
The symmetries obtained are 192
and they should be 48
Action : contact ABINIT group.

When I input the model by hand (using the International Tables and the Wyckoff symbols to compute all atom positions) the space group is properly found. Any suggestions as to where the problem lies? I'm happy to try to fix it but would like some hints as to where to look, especially since the symmetry code seems to have recently been "renovated".

thanks,
Joe

Hello Joe,

Can you post your two input files?
